Karl Veto Baker

Candidate for Office of Hawaiian Affairs

Trustee-at-Large

Aloha mai kākou,

My name is Karl Veto Baker, and I am running for Office of Hawaiian Affairs Trustee-at-Large. I am stepping forward because our community deserves leadership that is both fiscally disciplined and culturally rooted. For me, this is more than a campaign. It is a commitment to ensuring that OHA truly serves the people and fulfills its intended purpose.

Financial Expertise. Cultural Foundation.

To serve as your Trustee, one must understand both the numbers and the naʻau.

With 38 years as a mortgage banker, I understand complex regulations, fiduciary responsibility, and the importance of transparency and accountability.

As a kumu hula, I am firmly grounded in our culture, ʻāina, traditions, and practices. I live the values that guide our lāhui every day.

We must walk in both worlds — with wisdom and with discipline.

For the future of Our Lāhui

Your support helps us protect our trust, share our message, and build a stronger future for all our people.
